Here is the counter to the last month’s technique, the dive roll to back attack (Click here to see that one). You’ll probably recognize Erik as one of Brock Lesnar’s cornerman and trainer. Great guy with awesome skill.

    Man, this counter looks really easy to pull off. Almost so much that the dive roll to rear mount doesn’t seem like it’s worth the risk.

    Or am I totally off-base?

      True it does look easy…Gotta do it when they least expect it and quickly :).

        I would think the time when they least expect dive roll, would most likely come after some kind of distraction. They’re probably gonna be gasping for air if your forearm is on their throat. In a grappling tournament, I could see that roll being difficult to execute, but maybe easier in MMA, since you can throw a few strikes in to daze your opponent or force them to cover up. Either way, I like how you put in not only a great technique, but also how to counter it. Show that NO technique is 100% foolproof and know what the dangers are when executing it. as always, setup and timing are key.
