Damn Jeff, what was that at the end there? That was pretty interesting with what he was doing with his gi while on top.
I’m happy to say I recognized a buncha stuff from my brief time in BJJ/SubWrestling class, like how to hold the lower mount and the throws they were showing prior to the match. What was that flip he did in the beginning once he got him to the ground?

  2. Jeff Joslin says:

The thing with the gi at the end, was a collar choke. Grabbing the collars deeply lines up your wrists directly against the opponents carotid arteries which will put him to sleep.

The flip was a move that I often use. Once you take the back you look a bearhug around the opponent’s upper body and flip forward. This causes the person that your holding to flip over with you enabling you to get your feet hooked in for back control. It looks great to watch it when it’s pulled off.

Yeah, you’ll have to show me those moves in class. 😛
