After a great night of fighting in Brasil at UFC 134, the winner of the UfC 134 Main Event Pick’em Contest is Marky Straughan.

Here was his prediction for the main event fight between Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami:

Silva – Second Round – 2:34 (22 seconds off of the finish time of 2:56)

There were some others that were very close but Marky was the closest so he wins the entire MMA QuickStart Training Program which includes over 18 1-hour workouts, 100+ instructional videos, 12 Follow Along MP3 “Shadowfighting” Audio Files and more.

I’m very excited about this weekends UFC 134 card.

First off it’s very cool that it’s taking place in Brazil and even better is that my friend Spencer “The King” Fisher is fighting in a bout that is being shown live  on Spike Tv.

There are also some great match-ups on the card as well.

I wanted to add a little more fun to the event by giving away my MMA QUICKSTART TRAINING PROGRAM to the person that can guess closest to the result of the main event fight between Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami.

Here’s all you have to do to submit your guess(es)

Pick the (winner/round/time left in round) (ie. Silva/3/2:12). Remember that it’s a 5 round fight. In the case of a decision result, no prize will be awarded so please don’t choose decision as the result.

You can submit up a guess in three different places (named below) s in the above format to increase your chances of winning.

  • One on this blog post via comment
  • One on the contest facebook note as a comment –-> Click here
  • and another one via twitter @jeffjoslin

Good luck!

At about 6:30 p.m last night, I blasted out a competition on facebook and twitter and in a short time close to 100 people had entered to win a free copy of my Beginner home training program “MMA QuickStart”. All they had to do to win was pick the winner/round/time left in the round, when either Rashad Evans or Tito Ortiz won the UFC 133 main event fight.

The competition was very close as many people picked Rashad to win the fight in the second round.

Two people picked the closest answer, exactly, so they both win a copy of my training program!

Shawn Gravelle Evans/2nd round/0:35 left

Andrew McCool  Evans….:35 round 2….TKO

Congrats Shawn and Andrew on winning, I’ll message you of facebook to set you up with MMA Quickstart.

Check back before the next UFC for another chance to win…

Time to go watch the smurfs with the kids!

Alright, I’m going to test your MMA knowledge.

But first you need to say this statement,

“I swear that I will answer the questions below by using my memory alone. I will not use google or any other aid to assist me”.

I’ll post the answers this Sunday Night. Good luck!

Here we go…

1. Which MMA fighter was a world class arm wrestler before competing in mixed martial arts?

2. Which fighter wore one boxing glove during one of his fights inside the octagon?

3. Which fighter is nicknamed “The Muscle Shark”?

4. How did Royce Gracie defeat Dan “The Beast” Severn at UFC 4?

5. Who won the 1st Pride Fighting Grand Prix?

6. Who has the record for the fastest finish in UFC history?

7. In the IFL (International Fight League), which city were the “Dragons” based out of?

8. True of False? Groin strikes were at one time legal.

9. How many rounds is a UFC title fight?

10. Which fighter is nicknamed “The Inferno”?

Posts your answers in the comment section.

UFC 126 is coming up. That means it’s time to give away some free MMA instructional stuff.

I’m very excited about the title match between Vitor Belfort & Anderson Silva. I really hope Belfort comes out of that fight as the new UFC middleweight champion of the world.  It comes down to the fact that I just don’t enjoy watching Silva fight as much anymore.

Anyway make your picks below (and please keep them in the same list order to make my job of calculating the winner much easier) and if you choose the most correct winners you win!

To make things more fun let’s do something special.

If Silva retains his belt, the pick’em winner will get any one of my MMA instructional workshops ($30 Value) and if Vitor Belfort is victorious then the pick’em winner will receive my complete MMA QuickStart MMA Training Program ($97 value).

Make your picks as comments on this post. Good luck!

Here’s a video with my thoughts on the main card fights:

UFC 125 going down this weekend…

I’m actually pretty excited about this upcoming UFC Card for many reasons.

  1. It’ll be cool to see Edgar defend his title against someone new.
  2. I always like watching Chris Leben slug it out “Zombie Style” inside the Octagon.
  3. If we’re lucky Silva and Vera could turn out to be a solid striking battle.
  4. Can Dong Hyun Kim stay undefeated after facing the always scrappy Nate Diaz?
  5. Clay Guida is fighting on the card. I’ve always liked his wild aggression and chaotic hammer fisting style of mixed martial arts fighting.

What do you think about the card?

Make your picks (posting them in the comments) and the person/people with the most correct selections will win any one of my MMA training workshops.

Please post your picks in the same order as they are listed below as it will make my job of calculating the results much easier.

Good Luck!
